Our Training
A fun, easy way to have a well-behaved dog is to train with A-1 K-9!
Basic Obedience
Learn to communicate with your dog in a way that your dog can understand. Teach your dog how to behave and become obedient to your basic commands. Teach your dog to take an enjoyable walk without pulling. Teach your dog basic commands such as: heal, sit, down, stay, and come when called. We also teach your dog basic manners such as not jumping on your guests or any other people you come in contact with as well as work on stopping excessive barking and other nuisance behaviors you may want to stop.
Intermediate/Advanced Obedience
Teach you and your dog the methods to perform all the desired behaviors off-leash. Imagine allowing your dog to run free and come directly back to you when you call him to go home. Would you like to take your dog for a walk without holding a leash? This obedience course could be a 1st step to making this happen.
Agility
The most fun you will ever have with your dog. The agility class will help build confidence in your dog and teach them new skills beyond the obedience classes. You and your dog will work as a team, teaching your dog to properly navigate the many different obstacles on the training course. You and your dog will learn better body language communication and have lots of fun in the process. This class will also force you to get in better physical shape in order to keep up with your companion!
Puppy Training
Start your new puppy off on the right paw. We will work with you in the transition of bringing your new puppy home to be part of your family. During puppy training, we help with the transition by offering support and guidance for potty training, house training, avoiding development of nuisance behaviors, and begin shaping behaviors for more successful and easier future obedience training experience.
Board and Train
We offer a board and train as an option for obedience training. This option allows us to work on teaching your dog the same basic obedience commands on a daily basis. We are able to work with your dog on multiple short training sessions throughout the day. Short training sessions allow for more repetition and gives your dog the chance to begin to understand and recognize what they are being asked to do. The board and train will help build a foundation for you to continue developing when your dog comes back home with you. When your dog is ready to return home, we will schedule a training session to teach you what your dog has learned and prepare you to take over where we leave off. This option is for potty trained dogs as we do not offer potty training for older dogs.
Potty Training
Group Class
Attend class with a small group of people to teach your dog how to walk properly on a leash, heal, sit, down, stay, and come when called. The group class will also give you the opportunity to work through the distraction of other dogs. Group class also offers an opportunity to gain supervised socialization with your dog.
Private Class
Work one-on-one with Andrea to learn how to build the foundation for basic obedience. The basic obedience class will help you teach your dog how to walk properly on a leash, heal, sit, down, stay, and come when called. You will also learn more than just the basic commands. You will also learn valuable information about your dog’s behavior and the psychology behind it.
